About the event

The Insitute of Apprenticeships & Technical Education (a government-run apprenticeship organisation) has long had a Museum and Gallery Technician apprenticeship program but it has laid dormant till now as the Building and Craft College have become the provider of this program.

The Museum and Gallery Technician apprenticeship programme is designed to give students who are employed as museum or gallery-based technicians the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in a demanding and challenging sector. You must be full-time employed to take part in the apprenticeship program as your employer sponsors you.

The programme will develop practice related to activities such as event/exhibition preparation, joinery and related fabrication methods, artefact movement and storage and environment control together with the development of those behaviours necessary to function effectively as a team member in a dynamic workplace.

You can find the information about the apprenticeship scheme HERE.

There is a lot to know about the scheme, and so we want to, first let people know this is an option for employers and their staff but also arrange an information session to discuss the scheme and its delivery.

Please RSVP to attend the information-sharing event and so we can also send you information regarding the program should you wish to receive it. We will email the link once you have RSVP'd.
