Leeds Museums and Galleries is seeking to appoint a Technical Officer who will be responsible for the delivery of an effective and efficient technical service and team across Leeds Museums and Galleries portfolio of sites contributing to the delivery of the services strategic plan.
This post reports to the Head of Operations and takes responsibility for the co-ordination, planning, implementation and delivery of technical support for exhibition development, collections work, events and site requirements ensuring the highest possible quality.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a creative and practical problem solver, have a keen attention to detail and ensure high standards are implemented and maintained. They will have a wide range of technical and practical skills, have experience in managing and developing staff and have the ability to work effectively as part of multi-layer teams across different teams and sites.
Leeds Museums and Galleries is the largest local authority museum service in the country and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. With 9 sites, 1.3 million objects across the multi-disciplinary collections, in 2019/20 we welcomed 1.32 million visitors to the nine museum and gallery venues across the city.
