This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Technical Team at our Farnham Campus. We are looking for a skilled individual to support students and provide technical tuition in metal fabrication and a range of bronze and metal casting processes.

You will oversee the day-to-day care and operation of the Metalworking facilities, providing knowledge, expertise, and experience of casting in metal and other metalwork processes, creative applications, and safe working practices.
This will include the delivery of technical workshops and demonstrations into metal working equipment used in cutting, forming, fabrication and finishing techniques alongside Foundry work, including mould making and ceramic shell moulding, bronze casting, finishing, fettling and patination.

This position requires knowledge and understanding of the H&S hazards associated with the use of specialist equipment and materials needed when creating metal artworks.
Experience of relevant safe working practices and a high degree of knowledge in all appropriate H&S procedures is a must to ensure the safety of our learners.
You will be able to demonstrate a positive and flexible approach when supporting both students and staff.
This is a dynamic role that needs excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to apply initiative, problem-solve and work as part of a team.

Actual salary for the post is £17,357 – £19,446 per annum for 21.75 hours a week.

The University has a dedicated Learning & Organisational Development team who work with
staff and managers to capitalise on training opportunities. Training will be provided to the
successful candidate to build upon the existing skill base and fill any gaps in knowledge.
