Annely Juda Fine Art is one of London’s premier commercial galleries established in 1968 – specialising in international contemporary art and 20th century avant garde. The successful candidate will work as an integral and inclusive part of a small team. The gallery team consists of 11 members, including the Directors.

Main Responsibilities

The installation and de-installation of exhibitions in the gallery space.

Packing artworks for storage and transport.

Framing: de-framing / reframing artworks.

Condition checking of artworks.

Manual handling of heavy, complex, fragile artworks. Carrying fragile/large/small artworks from exhibition spaces to transport vehicles.

Photography: Will help staff set up installations for photography, installing lights, moving delicate photographic equipment for senior technicians.

Keep workshops, art storage, exhibition space ordered and tidy. Check gallery space for dirty walls, marks to floors, rubbish removal, lighting is working and other tasks involved with the smooth running of an exhibition venue.

Possible travel to art fair venues, domestic & abroad

Presentable appearance: helping sales staff and directors present artworks to clients. Attend client’s premises to install/deliver artworks.

Working with and under the direction of gallery artists for installations of their artworks. Attend artist’s studios to prepare their work for transport/shipping/photography.

Will be based at the gallery premises and the gallery’s warehouse.

Applicant Requirements / experience

Experience of handling delicate art works; paintings, sculptures, prints and antiquities.

Experience of installing artworks in an exhibition scenario.

Experience using hand tools; powered and non-powered hand tools to install/hang artworks. Manual dexterity with sharp bladed instruments for cutting paper, card etc.

Practical ability to make and construct items: Make card boxes for art works. Cut timber & sheet material to make plinths / exhibition interiors. Good general woodworking experience.

Excellent time management and timekeeping and good communication skills.
