The idea behind installing artwork is that we are displaying artworks in a manner that ensures the work is safe and secure at all times, in the manner in which the artist intended, without drawing attention to how it is installed.

In this one day session, we will examine the fundamentals of how an artwork or object is installed safely and securely in a space by examining the:

– Different artistic mediums and the appropriate hardware to use

– Different surfaces on which art or objects are installed eg. types of walls, plinths, etc.

– Different arrangements of displaying artworks, such as hanging multiple 2d artworks and the use of exhibition furniture such as plinths.

– Equipment which can be used for installation
