Behind the Art with AB Fine Art Foundry

ArtTechSpace welcomes you to come and see behind the scenes with AB Fine Art Foundry, regarded as one of Europe's leading fine art foundries. They specialise in bronze casting and pride themselves on the quality of the work they produce, frequently partnering with many of the world's most celebrated artists such as Rachel Whiteread, Tim Noble & Sue Webster, Jake & Dinos Chapman, and Tracey Emin to name just a few. AB Fine Art Foundry (https://www.abfineart.com/) has been based in the East End of London since it was founded in 1992. The building itself was originally part of the Spratt's Dog Biscuit Factory. As we work our way through the building with Director Jerry Hughes and Foundry Technician Chloe Hughes you will get an understanding of the process they employ to make objects using the lost wax method such as mould making, investing, casting, welding and chasing. And there are some pretty famous artwork moulds to be seen! To give you an idea of the fascinating things you will see head over to their instagram page https://www.instagram.com/abfineartfoundry/?hl=en. We will head to The Widow’s Son pub nearby after the tour so we can have some informal chats and you can ask all those burning questions. You will be required to sign a non-disclosure upon entry into the building. Part of a series of tours we organise to showcase the people that make art happen - let us take you behind the scenes of the art world- get involved - it will be ace!
