Plinths, bases and vitrines

Original Question:

I am looking for a recommendation for Plinth, base and Vitrine construction in London. Can anyone please suggest good companies to use?

Here's a couple of places White Wall - http://thewhitewall.co.uk/display-items/ Big Soda - http://www.bigsoda.co.uk/plinth-fabrication/ Darbyshire - http://www.darbyshire.uk.com/artist-services/ Fish Fabrications - mainly work in metal http://fishfabrications.co.uk/ Acrylic Design - http://www.acrylicdesign.co.uk/#&panel1-1 Scotland - https://make.works/blog/ten-fabricators-in-scotland However there are quite a few freelance techs that make plinths for some extra cash - if you have specific needs let me know and I can put an advert on the main site for you if you like?

Helping hand: Luxembourg & Dayan explores the role of the artist’s assistant

The New York gallery Luxembourg & Dayan hosted ‘In the Making: Artists, Assistants, and Influence’ – a show tracing the link between artists and their (eventually famous) assistants. Interesting the role of the artist assistant is not only being recognised but also celebrated - well done them - although I think it will take a while for other galleries to catch on to dispelling the myth of the artist as sole creator. http://www.wallpaper.com/art/helping-hand-luxembourg-dayan-lauds-recognition-onto-artists-assistants-for-a-change
